BCRM celebrates 10th anniversary and 10,000 fertility cycles

Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine (BCRM) is celebrating 10 years of providing advanced fertility treatment in Bristol with a family tea party on Friday 27 July.

BCRM celebrates 10th anniversary and 10,000 fertility cycles

"We feel very privileged to have helped many people from Bristol and all over the world fulfil their dream of having children. Reaching 10 years is an incredibly important milestone for us."
Dr Valentine Akande, Lead Consultant, BCRM

Past and present patients are invited to the unit as guests of honour, with their children asked to help blow out the candles on special 10th anniversary cupcakes.

BCRM is the longest serving fertility service in Bristol, and has undertaken over 10,000 cycles of fertility treatment such as IVF over the last decade. It has recently invested in the Embryoscope+, the latest IVF enhancing technology, allowing the service to continue to improve on its already excellent success rates, and will be offering preimplantation genetic screening this year.

With one of the highest success rates for fertility treatment in the UK, BCRM undertakes IVF, ICSI, IUI, donor sperm and egg donation treatment as well as fertility surgery.

BCRM treats both NHS and private patients and prides itself in offering an affordable and personalised service. BCRM staff are world recognised experts, involved in innovative research and specialist training. The centre is also able to offer some patients a 100% money back guarantee if their IVF treatment is not successful.

The 10th anniversary celebrations will include speeches from Dr Valentine Akande and Dr Amanda Jefferys (pictured), internationally renowned Bristol fertility experts and BCRM Medical Directors, a tour of the facility, and refreshments sourced from the local area. Tea is from Pukka, cakes are from Hey Cupcakes and Poppy’s Vintage Ices will be serving Brookes Wye Valley ice cream for the most important attendees: the children.

BCRM holds regular open evenings throughout the year and invites anyone – including hetero and lesbian couples and single women – who is interested in learning more about treatment to come along for a free mini consultation.

“We feel very privileged to have helped many people from Bristol and all over the world fulfil their dream of having children. Reaching 10 years is an incredibly important milestone for us and we would like to celebrate the success of BCRM, all the past and present patients, their families and our fantastic staff. We’re building on our success by investing in the latest technology, to ensure we stay at the forefront of fertility services in Bristol.” Commented Dr Valentine Akande, Lead Consultant, BCRM.

Dr Amanda Jefferys, BCRM Consultant, added: “We pride ourselves on being approachable and sensitive during what can be an incredibly overwhelming time. We welcome patients from all over the South West and the rest of the world, both self-funded and NHS-referred patients, and we aim to remain Bristol’s number one fertility service.”
