610% pandemic growth for Yorkshire social media company

"We make social media simple for people to understand, especially businesses in B2C and B2B so they can get results that deliver a return on investment."
Rik Courtney, CEO of Be More Social

Be More Social, an award-winning social media marketing consultancy and franchise based in Doncaster, and London has seen more demand than ever for its services during the pandemic. This surge in demand is attributed to business owners placing an increased focus on establishing a strong digital presence and marketing their products and services effectively.

The firm experienced a 610% increase in turnover between April to September last year, working with companies throughout the UK, including Natwest, The Federation of Small Businesses, ActionCOACH, Doncaster Chamber, Don Valley Engineering and Little Helper.

Be More Social works with 120 businesses nationally to educate them on the power of social media and coach and guide them in their journey to social media success. Be More Social gives customers access to a digital guru, live training webinars, a private Facebook community with weekly learning sessions, an accountability dashboard and quarterly social media planning sessions.

Their approach is purpose-designed to help businesses increase sales through social media, educating and inspiring business owners to transform their social media presence or creating tailor-made content through their done-for-you approach. The team prides itself on Be More Social’s proven formula to make social media work.

Be More Social was founded in 2010 by Rik Courtney and has since pivoted from being an agency to a consultancy and social media franchise – one of the first of its kind in the UK. Rik personally delivers social media marketing sessions to customers through dedicated events and workshops.

Rik Courtney, CEO of Be More Social explained: “I am on a genuine mission to entertain, educate and inspire 10% of the 5.9m businesses in the UK to get real results from social media. When you’re faced with a mission that big, you realise you can’t do it alone which is why we’ve decided to franchise the business.

“We make social media simple for people to understand, especially businesses in B2C and B2B so they can get results that deliver a return on investment. The growth we saw throughout the pandemic was crazy considering we initially lost 80% of our customers overnight. I’m so proud of my team and all that they have achieved in the last 12 months.”

The company has quickly grown to a team of 16 head office employees, as word spreads about its unique approach to supporting businesses with everything from social media channel optimisation to social listening and advertising.

Be More Social has ambitious plans for the rest of this year, intending to expand its franchise and work with business owners overseas to support their social media success.

The company is part of the Be More Group, which includes Be More Active, Be More Successful, Slimming Buddy and Consultive.
