Hassalls are happy at Heathfields

"Weve had some really happy mornings at home school and its definitely down to the warmth and layout of this wonderful home environment that we are so lucky to have."
Danielle Hassall

When the Hassall family moved into their new home at Anwyl’s Heathfields development in Audlem just over two years ago they had no idea what was to come and how important their house would be in keeping them healthy and happy during an international pandemic.

Parents to three young and very energetic boys, Danielle and Richard have appreciated both the design, style and space in their thoughtfully designed four bedroom Meliden house type and also the layout and location of the Heathfields development and its close proximity to open fields and countryside during the recent 10 week lockdown.

“We keep saying to each other that we’re so pleased that we’re in this house and not any of the others that we’ve previously lived in,” said Danielle.  “We have a huge open plan kitchen dining room and long living room, both of which are great family spaces, and a great garden with decked areas and a patio providing plenty of space for the boys to play.

“The location of our home is perfect too.  It is positioned on the edge of the development overlooking open countryside and we simply have to hop over a little stile to access a public footpath over the fields where we can take long walks, get plenty of fresh air and the boys can run free.”

Home life has been busy for Danielle and Richard during isolation and the family has had to be super organised to ensure everything gets done from shopping, cooking and cleaning to home schooling, work and family time.

Richard runs his own landscape gardening business and has never been busier; the lockdown and a recent run of great weather has prompted more people to evaluate their outdoor spaces and he has been inundated with requests for work that he has been able to undertake successfully while adhering to strict social distancing guidelines.

As a global e-commerce manager mainly dealing with the USA market, Danielle has also continued working from home, dedicating her mornings to home schooling and activities with the boys before logging on and starting work when the American market opens for business in the early afternoon.

To keep the boys engaged and inspired she has transformed an area of the kitchen into a classroom complete with a bookshelf of useful learning resources and colourful displays.  The boys and their mummy spend a couple of hours every morning in the classroom doing a fun learning activity together and recently completed a project on ancient Egypt which Danielle has shared along with other activities for kids, crafts, home décor and more on her growing Instagram profile An Ordinary Mummy.

“I just love our open plan kitchen dining room,” says Danielle, “It’s filled with natural light and in the morning the sun streams in making it a lovely place to be. We’ve had some really happy mornings at ‘home school’ and it’s definitely down to the warmth and layout of this wonderful home environment that we are so lucky to have.

“Spacious and well planned with high ceilings and lovely features, the rest of the house is much the same – and despite the fact that we’ve been at home now for 10 weeks or more we don’t feel trapped at all, it’s just a great place for us all to enjoy together as a family.”

When taking their daily hour of exercise and fresh air, the family have opted to stay close to home and ride their bikes in the safety of the development’s big green area of open space or head for an adventure on the fields where they have free reign to run, explore and play freely to their hearts content.

“We know that everyone will have experienced their own lockdown highs and lows,” said Danielle, “And for us, our home has been one of the real highs.  We feel so lucky and so blessed to have spent our lockdown here and appreciate and love our home more than ever before.”

Heathfields is an attractive development of three, four and five bedroom quality new build homes in an idyllic traditional village location close to the centre of Audlem and is quaint high street that bustles with independent shops and stores.  A charming and highly desirable residential location in the heart of Cheshire, Audlem is well located for access to open space and the countryside and is within walking distance of the towpath of the Shropshire Union Canal and is also perfect for commuters being close to Nantwich, Whitchurch and Crewe and other destinations across the North West.

Anwyl’s on site sales office and two beautiful show homes have recently re-opened with social distancing and strict hygiene measures in place to welcome visitors.  For further details call 01270 811746.
