"Electrification is a hugely topical subject in Bristol at the moment. "
Emma Cook

A local car retailer is inviting the people of Bristol to an event to find out more about the future of electrification and debunk the myths.

On Thursday 12 March, City Motors Volvo on Castle Court is inviting members of the local community to an exciting evening to learn about electrification and discuss the future of the automotive industry.

Representatives from organisations such as Bristol City Council, Western Power and Volvo Car UK will be in attendance on the evening to host a selection of short presentations on this new technology, and its effects on the environment on both a national and regional level.

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion which will enable members of the public to put their queries to the experts. From charging costs and logistics, to debunking myths and jargon, the panel is keen to help shed some light on the most common electrification queries.

Drinks and canapes will be available throughout the evening, as well as a grand unveiling of the new Volvo XC40 T5 Twin Engine, the UK’s first plug-in hybrid premium compact SUV.

City Motors Volvo is committed to helping Volvo Car UK reach its pledge of 50% of sales volume to be fully electric by 2025, as well as helping facilitate the uptake of EVs in a bid to help Bristol become carbon neutral.

Emma Cook, Group Marketing Manager at City Motors Bristol, said: “Electrification is a hugely topical subject in Bristol at the moment, and we are hoping that by bringing experts from the electric vehicle sector and the people of Bristol together, we can help break down barriers and reduce anxiety in those considering the switch to an electric vehicle.

“We want to help reduce our environmental impact on both a national and regional level, improving the air quality in and around Bristol and helping the city reach its aim of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.

“No question is too big or too small for our panel of experts, so if electrification has been on your mind lately, register for your free ticket and we’ll see you there!”

The electrification event is open to all, but spaces are limited so please register your interest by visiting https://bit.ly/2TDpGUY or calling 0117 9723030.
