Yorkshire Packaging Systems support National Recycling Week!

On the 24th-30 September 2018, the next annual National Recycling Week will take place.

Yorkshire Packaging Systems support National Recycling Week!

"We are proud to say that all of our shrink films are 100 recyclable - getting this message out to the end-users and raising awareness via National Recycling Week is our priority."
Glyn Johnson

Organised by WRAP (The Waste and Resources Action Programme), the aim of the week is to increase awareness about recycling and to encourage a widespread change in recycling behaviours. The hope is that the events will encourage the general public and businesses to recycle more by demonstrating the benefits for our environment. The slogan for the campaign is ‘Recycling. We do. Because it matters.’ The team at YPS certainly agree.

Although Recycle Week has been running for 15 years, the focus this year is on the recycling of plastics in particular – and this is what has earned the attention of YPS. As suppliers of plastic shrink wrap film, many tonnes of YPS’s products end up in homes and businesses around the UK, as it is used to package a huge array of goods in a wide variety of industries. Despite common misconceptions, the entire range of YPS shrink film, in both polythene and polyolefin specifications, is 100% recyclable. This means that widespread recycling of their plastic is a very real and achievable possibility. In conjunction with National Recycling Week, YPS are taking this opportunity to encourage their customers and the end-users to recycle the films as much as possible, to prevent them ending up in landfills.

This year’s Recycling Week also coincides with the company’s annual attendance at the PPMA packaging exhibition, located at the NEC in Birmingham (25th-27th September). In honour of this, the YPS stand (A54) will host a dedicated shrink film station as well as the shrink wrapping machinery. The YPS shrink film experts will be welcoming discussions and questions concerning recycling, sustainability and bio-based film alternatives like their popular B-NAT film. If you've got 'green' ambitions, YPS will have the solution you need!

For any further information you require on recycling shrink film, call the friendly YPS team today on 01924 441355, or click here register your PPMA visit to discuss your needs with their experts in person.
