B-NAT Shrink Film Finalist For Plastics Recycling Award Europe 2019!

Yorkshire Packaging's B-NAT Bio-based shrink film is in the running for the Plastic Packaging Product of the Year at the Plastics Recycling Awards Europe!

B-NAT Shrink Film Finalist For Plastics Recycling Award Europe 2019!

"Considering the current climate for environmentally friendly alternatives and its demands on packaging, B-NATs inclusion in the awards will raise the profile of shrink wrapping's green credentials"
Glyn Johnson, YPS MD

These prestigious awards champion and celebrate achievement throughout the scope of the European plastics recycling industry, offering an insight into current developments in recycled material usage, product design and innovative manufacturing. To be recognised at these awards alongside some well-known names like P&G and Volvo is very exciting for YPS! In fact, this is not the first time that B-NAT has garnered the attention of packaging professionals – at the PPMA 2018 awards in September, it was a finalist for the ‘Environmental Initiative of the Year’.

So what is really so impressive about Bollore B-NAT film?  It’s a versatile bio-based polyolefin film that is available in a wide range of widths and microns, in centre-folded or flat variations, plain or printed, for a huge variety of wrapping applications. It can be run on most shrink wrapping machines from manual through to fully automatic high speed specification machines. Unlike traditional shrink films with petrochemical foundations, B-NAT is made from a base of 'green' polyethylene and consists of more than 46% renewable sugar cane ethanol, thereby classifying it as a bio-based film. The product is 100% recyclable to LDPE 04, meaning it can be recycled at housed level. B-NAT can also be made into waste plastic sacks or back into shrink film, meaning it is not a single-use plastic. None of these green credentials come at any sacrifice to the outstanding features expected of YPS's other films, including outstanding optics, clarity, strength and shrink ratio. This innovative bio-based shrink film is currently unrivalled by any other shrink film world-wide.

The Plastics Recycling Award Europe winners will be announced on 11th April, during the second day of the Plastics Recycling Show Europe, taking place at the RAI Amsterdam.
