Northern Powerhouse Minister confirms Vapour Cloud as official partner

"We are proud of our roots and genuinely believe the integrity, vibrancy and passion of our Northern team are three of the key reasons why clients, partners and technology giants want to work with us."
Andy Nash

Elland-headquartered voice, video, networks and storage specialist Vapour Cloud, has today been announced as an official partner of the Northern Powerhouse.

Her Majesty’s Government has been vocal about its quest to build a super-connected, globally competitive northern economy, and the Northern Powerhouse Partner Programme is considered a key part.

Employing a wealth of the North’s brightest talent and with renowned clients throughout the region and beyond, Vapour applied for official partner status earlier this year. The firm has secured 10 strategic partners in the North, which contributed to 50% turnover growth during 2018, plus more than £5m of revenue generated for the partner organisations themselves.

These factors – as well as a strong track record for holding business and tech events that fuel innovation, digital transformation and collaboration – contributed to Vapour securing its place on the programme.

Committed to the economic growth of the North, Vapour has plans to grow headcount by 20%, secure a further 10 partners and roll out a new programme of events for the next 12 months. With 50% growth forecast for 2019-20, Vapour’s product roadmap also remains strong, which could aid the digital transformation of more than 5,000 businesses in our partners’ bases over the coming year.

The Northern Powerhouse has been established to help build thriving connectivity and transport; skills, science and innovation; quality of life and culture; and devolution throughout the North of England and North Wales.

Commenting on the partnership success, Vapour’s chief operating officer Andy Nash said: “We are proud of our roots and genuinely believe the integrity, vibrancy and passion of our Northern team are three of the key reasons why clients, partners and technology giants want to work with us. The North has a fantastic brand at present and we really want to help build on that.”

Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry MP said: “I am delighted to welcome Vapour Cloud to our growing Northern Powerhouse Partners Programme.

“As experts in the field of cloud technology, a vocal commentator in the tech, business and leadership arena with a passion for putting the Northern tech space firmly on the map, they are well placed to help Government realise its ambition in creating a thriving Northern economy across the whole of the Northern Powerhouse and beyond.”

Andy concluded: “Our secure cloud solutions help businesses grow, adapt and become more robust. We’re passionate about supporting organisations to thrive and we are working hard to not just create jobs for our own people – but to inspire others to explore careers in the Northern tech sector too. If I’m being honest, I think it’s a very unique space.”

Earlier this year, Vapour Cloud was positioned 23rd in G.P. Bullhound’s Northern Tech 100 list.

Organisations to have signed up to the Northern Powerhouse Partner Programme, include Ao.com, Sellafield and Eddie Stobart. Prospective partners can email NorthernPowerhouse@communities.gov.uk for more information including details of how to apply.
