The North West entrepreneurs behind PelliTec®, the innovative blister prevention pad, are celebrating after being included in the Mills & Reeve Top Tech North West report.
And that’s not all – further celebrations are in order for the team as the National Institute for Health Research has awarded the company a grant to progress a ‘proof of concept’ study at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The study will investigate use of the pad to establish if the patented PelliTec anti-friction technology can help manage clinical problems such as diabetic foot ulcers.
The PelliTec team will be working with a consultant from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and a leading academic from Manchester Metropolitan University throughout the study.
If that wasn’t enough activity for the Thornton Science Park based company, they have recently sent an initial order of their innovative product to Japan for use by the military and have just signed an exclusive deal with a well-established sports medical distributor in Ireland,
