Bury-based management consultancy There Be Giants, which helps organisations implement a goal-setting framework known as OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) made famous in Silicon-Valley, has hit revenues of over £200,000 to March 31, 2019 and has seen its business take off internationally in 2019.
The business founded by ex-Fujitsu employee, Roger Longden in 2010 became a dedicated OKR consultancy in 2016 and is one of very few devoted, technology agnostic OKR management consultancies world-wide – the vast majority of experts being California-based due to Google, Twitter, LinkedIn and Uber being the most well-known advocates of the framework.
OKRs benefit rapidly-scaling businesses by focussing everyone in the organisation on achieving goals through specific measurable actions and communicating and monitoring progress towards achieving them.
Roger and his team are dedicated to helping ambitious technology-focused businesses develop high growth strategies and then align and engage their people – and is one of only a handful of experts outside the US in the field. This month he oversaw the launch of the world’s first dedicated OKR podcast and he also speaks internationally on the subject as well as guest lectures at MMU Business School.

The company works closely in workshops and ‘retrospective’ sessions with clients to tackle a number of things that often go awry in fast growing businesses - helping alignment with the overall strategic objective, demonstrating clear progress, stopping siloed working by collaborating across the organisation to achieve successes, promoting internal creativity and ambition and allowing for ‘smart failure’ where lessons are learned, and corrective measures taken rapidly.
