Rentalcars.com drives business with nearshore software development from Godel

Rentalcars.com has chosen to work in partnership with software development player Godel to develop a strategic web product that supports Rentalcars.coms continuing strong growth.

Rentalcars.com drives business with nearshore software development from Godel

"Godel is providing us with the bandwidth to be creative and deliver an initiative that we want to see delivered fast but with assurance of quality."
James Adams, product commercial director

Godel will work with the world’s biggest online car rental service for the next twelve months under a co-source model where a distinct project is delivered by a 30-person team comprising 80% Godel resource and 20% Rentalcars.com resource.

“From our earliest engagement with Godel, we’ve been impressed with the team’s ability to take a brief, consume a huge amount of information, digest it and then come up with a plan,” explains James Adams, product & commercial director, Rentalcars.com.

“We’re working on a project that will see us collaborating through 2017 and have appreciated Godel’s fast-start and the degree to which effective relationships have been established at all levels within the project team.  Godel is providing us with the bandwidth to be creative and deliver an initiative that we want to see delivered fast but with assurance of quality.”

Godel provides businesses with the ability to scale rapidly in line with trends in the market place and achieve company growth. The shortage of skilled software developers in the UK presents challenges to businesses that are hungry to meet demand, or to deliver projects that may otherwise be put on the back burner in favour of ‘urgent’ day-to-day work.

Godel responds to the challenge by providing a stable and experienced skills-pool to digitally native businesses that allows them to pursue their growth agenda without being constrained due to lack of locally available talent.

Neil Turvin, CEO of Godel said: “Working with a trusted, nearshore software development partner means Rentalcars.com can build its development around the business’s objectives, rather than the other way around.

“Rentalcars.com set the bar very high in terms of what the team required from a software development partner, so we’re really pleased to be working together.”
