Vibe HR Brings Science to People Plans for a Winning Corporate Formula

"I know from personal experience that there is very little crossover between people plans and corporate strategy in many organisations, and yet people are the engine room of any companys success."
Lee Johnson

An innovative new strategic HR assessment tool combining tech and consultancy to deliver evidence-based people plans aligned to corporate strategy has been launched by London based, management consultancy firm, Laws of Attraction.

Based on a methodology refined over 20 years’ HR Director experience in blue chip environments, Vibe HR builds on Laws of Attraction’s established Vibe technology platform for HR professionals. It delivers a proven methodology for identifying priority areas of people management and business improvement, providing organisations with a heatmap of immediate, medium-term and long-term actions and goals, presented in a periodic table format.

Leveraging technology to fast-track a deep-dive assessment process for organisations with 250+ employees, Vibe HR combines reporting based on an analysis of responses, with consultancy from Laws of Attraction’s data insight specialists. The tool is designed to deliver deep insight and strategic planning across four key areas – strategy, delivery, experience and excellence – comprising 22 HR pillars and 145 ‘elements’.

The strategy outputs align the organisation’s HR/people strategy to its corporate strategy, while delivery is focused on driving efficiency and effectiveness and building relationships within the HR function, leadership and the rest of the business.

The tool is aimed at any organisation that wants to explore how its HR function is performing or align its people strategy with its corporate goals. It will also be particularly useful for HR Directors who are new in post and need to develop an in-depth understanding of their organisation, prioritise areas for improvement and develop a business case for investment in HR programmes.

Vibe HR has been developed from an assessment, analysis and heat mapping methodology pioneered by director of Laws of Attraction, Lee Johnson, during a 20-year HR director career with various FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies. His consultancy-based approach has been combined with Laws of Attraction’s data insight and relationship expertise in user-oriented technology platforms to create the integrated HR tool.

Lee explains: “I know from personal experience that there is very little crossover between people plans and corporate strategy in many organisations, and yet people are the engine room of any company’s success.

“Vibe HR is designed to examine all aspects of people management, value and productivity across all functions and departments and analyse that data to provide a clear picture of what’s working well and where improvement is required. This is then presented as a periodic table of 145 elements with each element mapped on a traffic light basis; red needing urgent action, amber targeted for improvement and green highlighting areas that are performing well. An example output is that this ensures budget is assigned to those areas where it will have most impact.

“Integrating this methodology with intuitive technology streamlines the process because, rather than spending hundreds of hours completing interviews, we can complete the assessment process with a statistically viable 5-7% of employees simultaneously and create an initial report for discussion and analysis. For larger and international organisations, the benefits of that time and cost-saving are exponential.”

Vibe HR may have been two decades in the making but the launch of the tool has fallen at an opportune time for the organisations, as HR Directors and wider leadership teams grapple with the challenges of change and uncertainty in the current climate. At a time when many HR Directors may be feeling overworked and overwhelmed and leadership teams are under pressure to revise their strategy and budgets in line with the ‘new normal’, HR Vibe provides a valuable tool for developing an evidence-based approach to prioritising people strategies to optimise ROI over the next 24 months.

“Fundamentally, HR is all about maximising the value of people within an organisation,” Lee adds. “HR Vibe is not simply an HR tool, but a resource that drives insight and accountability across the whole of an organisation, particularly the leadership teams. By taking a scientific approach to understanding the organisation’s specific value drivers and requirements, it presents a measurable and deliverable plan for business improvement and performance.”
