Online retailer Stacey Dennis is expanding globally and believes Brexit will help to open up new markets. Her cards and gifts business, Love Layla, has grown to become a multi-million-pound operation with over a million fans on social media. 

The tongue-in-cheek gifts offer cards that dump glitter all over the recipient and risque notebooks. Stacey Dennis started the business from her kitchen table in 2015, and it has snowballed. The company now has a franchise in Australia and is eyeing new markets around the world. 

Founder and owner Stacey Dennis said: "I'm in favour of anything that makes it easier to do business. There is too much red tape, and I think a new global approach to doing trade deals with low tariffs will help our business expand at home and abroad. We are serving more customers around the world from our UK operation and seeking to open up new markets with our franchise offer." 

The company has grown a new market for traditional greeting cards by appealing to younger buyers in particular. It has found a growing audience for its non-PC product range and has expanded into gifts and stationery to meet demand. 

Love Layla's 500-strong design range attracts an international customer base as well as interest from some of the UK's largest card retailers. 

The business, which employs five people, has moved to larger-scale premises in Pontefract, West Yorkshire to meet the growing demand for its products ranging from risqué greeting cards, balloons, cheeky wine labels and wrapping paper.
