Leeds-based Vantage Motorhomes is celebrating its 10th year as manufacturer of its award-winning range of van conversion motorhomes.  To recognise the anniversary, Vantage launched a special limited edition at the Motorhome and Caravan Show that took place at the NEC in Birmingham. The October show is the biggest event on the motorhome calendar.

Michael Hardicker, Managing Director of Vantage Motorhomes said, ‘We feel we have really cemented the Vantage reputation this year at the show. The special Vantage Diamond limited edition was a great success and sales were the best in the Company’s history.’

Vantage Motorhomes started manufacturing panel van conversions in 2007 and is now one of the largest independent van conversion specialists in the UK.   There are 10 motorhomes in the range all designed to accommodate two people. They range from five metres to just under six and a half metres with a choice of practical layouts to suit a variety of preferences.

Hardicker bought the business 18 months ago. ‘I’d been aware of the quality and reputation of Vantage motorhomes for some time from visiting their stand at the NEC and I felt that the Vantage brand would complement our activities at Signature Motorhomes & Leisure,’ he said.  Signature is the Preston-based dealer for Adria and Globecar motorhomes where Hardicker is Managing Director. ‘Having visited the Vantage factory in Leeds and seen first hand the skilled workforce building such a premium quality product, I was in no doubt that taking over the Company would be a very good move,’ he added.

In the 18 months since the buyout there has been a gradual programme to introduce a number of innovations to both processes and design and there have been improvements throughout the manufacturing process.  Following a recruitment drive, there’s been an increase in personnel and a Factory Manager has been appointed. Additional manufacturing space has also been acquired and from August production was increased to keep up with customer demand.

The Company has received many awards in recent years from the most prestigious and critical publications in the industry and it consistently comes out top in a range of owner satisfaction polls.

Hardicker said, ‘The business was built on the values of quality and service, and in the motorhome industry that is what Vantage is known for. We will continue to build on that legacy. With the additional factory space we are now able to introduce new options that haven’t been available to our customers in the past.  The Diamond Edition we launched at the show was the first step in that direction.’

The factory showroom is located in central Leeds where customers are encouraged to visit the factory and to have a real hands-on experience to ensure they choose the best motorhome for their needs.
