A Danish design store will open its first store in the North West in Preston next month.
Tiger will open in St George’s Shopping Centre on November 26, selling a variety of wares that are perfect for Christmas.
The flagship Lancashire store will create up to 14 jobs and is the latest in a string of firsts for the centre, following the arrival of Patisserie Valerie and The Entertainer.
The variety store, which sells an ever-changing selection of products, will occupy a 3,000 sq ft unit on the first floor close to the Fishergate entrance.
The chain, which has more than 500 stores across Europe, Japan and the US was launched in Copenhagen in 1995 and opened its first UK store in 2005. Today it has over 60 stores in the UK, including one on London’s Oxford Street.
It specialises in high quality, exceptional value items that are practical, fun, decorative and encourage creativity, including homeware, kitchenware, stationery, toys and hobby items.
The brand is known for keeping its prices both affordable and rounded, with everything priced in whole pounds.
General Manager of St George’s Shopping Centre, Andrew Stringer, said: “Tiger is another completely new brand to St George’s and the city and we look forward to the new store opening in time for Christmas.
“It’s completely different to anything else we have in the centre and is the latest in a number of national chains which have picked Preston and St George’s for their first Lancashire store.
“The product range on offer is vast with something for everyone and I’m sure shoppers will be impressed by what they will find”.
Vickie Strahan, the new store manager of Tiger Preston, said: “Come and explore with us at Tiger for an amazingly refreshing Christmas shopping experience. With our quirky designs and fun environment, we are sure you will find something you love. We really can’t wait to meet you.”
