"The success of our initial sales with Ocado has persuaded us that there is a significant demand for a new generation of fragrance-free bathroom and home air and fabric freshening. "
Tim Wright, chief executive of Aqdot
Originally available in selected areas through Ocado, demand for the product has led to a major investment in its website www.oderase.co.uk to offer a direct-to-consumer sales and delivery functionality.
In parallel the brand is extending its product range beyond Oderase Bathroom spray. The new air and fabric freshener, Oderase Fragrance-Free Open-Plan Living Odour
Erasing spray, has recognised the trend for open plan kitchens and living spaces and has identified a new unmet need, where cooking smells are not only in the air, but also absorbed into fabrics in the open plan living space, including sofas, cushion, curtains and rugs.
The Oderase products are now available as bundles on the www.oderase.co.uk website. Consumers helped to design the bundles for today’s living – the most popular one contains 3 sprays, for Upstairs Bathroom, Downstairs Loo and Open Plan Living areas.
Oderase utilises a new technology, developed by scientists and innovators at Aqdot, a company originally spun out of the Cambridge University, to instantly and effectively eliminate bad smells.
The technology used in Oderase is patented. Put simply, it captures bad odour molecules. The bad odour molecules in the air are quickly attracted to the Oderase odour eliminator, which in turn captures the bad odours and erases them from the air.
Tim Wright, chief executive of Aqdot, said: “The success of our initial sales with Ocado has persuaded us that there is a significant demand for a new generation of fragrance-free bathroom and home air and fabric freshening.
“To enable us to offer Oderase across the UK we have taken the decision to sell directly to consumers through our fully-functional web shop. This will enable us to reach more consumers and add lines as they are developed.
“This is an exciting time for the business, with ambitious plans to use the technology to bring innovative new products to the market, with our own sales platform an important part of our strategy.”
