New fragrance-free air & fabric freshener tackles odours in open plan living spaces, with no need for masking fragrance!

Following the success of its fragrance-free bathroom spray, the Oderase brand is launching a unique new odour-erasing spray for open-plan living spaces, that works both in the air and on fabrics, without any need for masking fragrance.

New fragrance-free air & fabric freshener tackles odours in open plan living spaces, with no need for masking fragrance!

"Open plan living is very popular these days and offers many benefits for families but there are issues with cooking and pet smells ..."
Jing, co-founder and Marketing Director of Aqdot

The new air and fabric freshener, Oderase Fragrance-Free Open-Plan Living Odour Erasing Spray, has recognised the trend for open plan kitchens and living spaces and has identified an unmet need, where cooking smells are not only in the air, but also absorbed into fabrics in the open plan living space, including sofas, cushion, curtains and rugs.

It is designed to effectively eliminate smells without any need for masking fragrance - erasing fish, onion and garlic odours from the air, and unlike other air fresheners it also tackles lingering smells on fabrics, which includes when the dog has been sitting on the sofa!

The compact, 200ml pump action container, retailing at £7.99, provides at least 1,000 spritzes, more than four times more than the average aerosol air freshener.

Oderase is the first and only fragrance-free, odour erasing household spray in the UK market. It utilises a new technology, developed by scientists and innovators at Aqdot, a company originally spun out of the Cambridge University, to instantly and effectively eliminate bad smells.

The technology used in Oderase is patented. Put simply, it captures bad odour molecules. The bad odour molecules in the air are quickly attracted to the Oderase odour eliminator, which in turn captures the bad odours and erases them from the air.

Behind Aqdot is a husband/wife team who are two of the co-founders of the company. Having had their child and changed countless smelly nappies in the early days of their entrepreneurial journey, Dr Jing Zhang and Dr Roger Coulston realised that they had developed a technology that could potentially be used to genuinely change the way bad odours are removed in our homes for the better. They believed that it would be possible to clear odours in a more caring way, without the need to use fragrances, propellants, or harsh reactive chemistries, to be kinder to our families and pets.

Together with the fantastic team at Aqdot, they created Oderase, a fragrance-free, non-pressurised aerosol spray that effectively clears odours.

Jing Zhang, co-founder and Marketing Director of Aqdot, said, “Oderase bathroom spray was very well-received by customers, who appreciated that it was effective and fragrance-free, making it far kinder for our families.

“This has encouraged us to develop products to target other areas of the home and the first of these is Oderase Fragrance-Free Open-Plan Living Odour Erasing Spray, which is unique as it works both in the air and on fabrics.

“Open plan living is very popular these days and offers many benefits for families but there are issues with cooking and pet smells in particular and our new product addresses this without masking the smells with pungent aromas as most air fresheners do.”
