New App Set To Transform The Recruitment Industry

New App Set To Transform The Recruitment Industry

"By working with some of the biggest companies in the UK, we have produced an app that powers an algorithm, that recommends roles and brands based on core skills and interest."
Gareth Peterson, managing director of Caroo

With over 200 businesses and 5,000 candidates already signed up to newly launched Caroo app, it’s safe to say that the team behind it have hit the North with full force.

The app, designed by users who want to be able to keep an eye on the recruitment market without necessary looking to change jobs, has allowed Caroo to not only enter the North West recruitment industry but well and truly pie it!

Self-confessed pie obsessive and brains behind the Caroo app, Gareth Peterson, went on a tour across the North West to officially launch the app by hand delivering fresh pies to talent management teams at some of the UK’s biggest brands. You wonder why – the answer is simple – because Gareth is a true northerner and loves pies!

Gareth Peterson, managing director of Caroo and proud Northerner said: “The traditional recruitment model is dying so we’re flipping recruitment on its head by helping jobs find people – making individuals know about opportunities that directly relate to their own experience.

“By working with some of the biggest companies in the UK, we have produced an app that powers an algorithm, that recommends roles and brands based on core skills and interest.”

Boasting clients including Adidas, AO.com, Missguided and The Hut Group – it’s clear that Caroo has made a big impact on the region.

Despite its initial focus on tech, digital and creative roles, the app has already expanded to include all head office functions.

Gareth continued: “We’ve created a marketplace for recruitment – connecting great people to career opportunities at amazing brands. With this app we want to finally kill the tired old CV - move to a career highlights in video, photos and links to online successes.

“Candidate profiles are anonymous, and we don’t collect data on gender, age, race etc – it’s purely down to your skills, interest and experience. It’s clear that companies like our no b******t approach and that’s why we’re seeing the level of results already.”

“We truly believe that this app will revolutionise the recruitment industry and we couldn’t be prouder to be operating it all from the North-West and showing the rest of the country how it’s done.

The app is free for all candidates and is also free to any businesses within the North West and Yorkshire until April 2020.

Caroo received over £1million investment from private equity firm Optimise Capital.
