New boss of Ovenu Wakefield has ambitious plans for growth

"I am thrilled at achieving my dream of becoming the boss of my own company."
Richard Winter

A sub-contractor with an oven cleaning enterprise in Wakefield has taken over the franchise with ambitious plans to grow the business.

Richard Winter started working with Ovenu Wakefield, which serves homes and firms throughout the city and surrounding areas, two years ago as a contractor for the then franchisee Richard Greenwood. He now has taken over the business, fulfilling a desire to become his own boss.

After completing training at Ovenu headquarters, Richard is ready to begin the next stage of his career by taking on this new challenge.

He is already looking to the future and has a business plan, which includes employing his own sub-contractors within the next five years as his ambition to grow his customer numbers take shape.

Richard said: “I am thrilled at achieving my dream of becoming the boss of my own company. My aim is to take the franchise to the next level by expanding the customer base by offering a first class level of service.

“My substantial experience as a sub-contractor with the business will stand me in good stead both with existing and potential new customers as well as helping achieve my aim of recruiting my own sub-contractors by 2024.”

Ovenu is a franchise network made up of more than 100 businesses owned by men and women working throughout the UK.

Rik Hellewell, Founder and Managing Director of Ovenu, added: “Richard’s two year connection with Ovenu Wakefield means he is well-equipped and perfectly suited to run the franchise. I look forward to working with him and supporting his ambitious growth plans.”

The Ovenu valeting process involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan and shelves and placing them into design-registered tank equipment, which uses safe, non-caustic products to clean the oven parts. The whole process takes about three to four hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition.
