FOOTSORE colleagues from a Yorkshire estate agency are back at work after taking part in a gruelling charity coastal challenge.

Twelve members of the team at Linley & Simpson laced up their walking boots to walk the Cleveland Way – celebrating its 50th anniversary - in aid of Martin House Hospice, at Boston Spa.

They set themselves the challenge of completing the windswept 40-mile route from Saltburn-by-the-Sea to Scarborough in just two days - and are still counmting up the totalo raised.

The intrepid fund-raisers included founding director Nick Simpson and colleagues Katie Hardstaff, Kerry Ferguson, Carina Stallabrass, Vikki Clayton, Nicola Walton, Mark Sheridan, Anthony Metcalfe, Alexander Atkinson, Greg Smallwood, Luke Gibson and Paul Bridgman.

The independent agency, which has 16 branches across North and West Yorkshire, has raised a total of more than £70,000 to support the care of children and young people with life-shortening illnesses at Martin House, its chosen charity partner.

Customer Services Manager Emily Wilkinson, who coordinates all its community support activities, said: “The team has completed no shortage of diverse challenges in aid of Martin House over the past few years – and this was among the toughest yet.

“We all know someone whose life has been touched by the care provided by Martin House and it was that which inspired us to take on the challenge – and spurred us on to complete it.”
