Riding high! Local housebuilder sponsors Leeds Equestrian Centre

"Were always looking for ways that we can support the communities in which we build, and were especially keen to support organisations that help to improve the lives of people across the region."
Martin Purdy, Commercial Director

Leading local housebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, has continued to support the local communities in which it builds, by donating £1,000 to Middleton Park Equestrian Centre in Leeds as part of it’s Community Fund, a scheme which will see a different charity or organisation receive £1,000 from the housebuilder every month. The money donated will help with the upkeep of the horses and will allow the centre to continue carrying out its work providing riding experiences for people with disabilities.

Middleton Equestrian Centre provides fun, sporting activities and the potential of career opportunities to local people, on behalf of the Riding for the Disabled Association. The centre also provides Carriage Driving sessions for severely disabled visitors, who may find it difficult to access any other services. The equestrian facility relies on donations from local businesses and the community in order to fund its fantastic work.

Martin Purdy, Commercial Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, which includes both the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, said: “We’re always looking for ways that we can support the communities in which we build, and we’re especially keen to support organisations that help to improve the lives of people across the region. Middleton Equestrian Centre gives local people with disabilities the chance to experience the joy of being around horses and riding. We’re delighted to be able to help such a fantastic local organisation with our donation.”

Anna Burke, Centre Manager from Middleton Equestrian Centre stated: “We’re really grateful to Barratt Developments Yorkshire West for its kind donation. Running a centre like this is extremely rewarding but we rely on the generosity of others, so any business that is willing to help us to give others an unforgettable experience is just fantastic. We’re extremely proud of the work we do at the centre, this donation will help ensure we can continue to deliver unforgettable experiences with the wonderful horses here to people with disabilities in the area.”
