Macbryde Homes completes land purchase with immediate start to deliver new homes in Old Colwyn

"With the purchase of this land now complete, were delighted to have started immediately with work on-site."
Gwyn Jones, MD, Macbryde Homes

Macbryde Homes has confirmed that it has completed the purchase of a plot of land on Dolwen Road, Old Colwyn and that work has started immediately.  The development, to be called Parc Elian, received planning permission last Autumn.

The 42-home development will be a mix of two- and three-bedroom semi-detached homes and three- and four-bedroom detached properties.  It is located opposite Macbryde’s existing Bryn Y Mor site which recently received the green light for its second phase to be developed.  Work there is due to start by the summer.

Speaking as work started on-site at Parc Elian, Gwyn Jones, MD at Macbryde Homes, said:

“With the purchase of this land now complete, we’re delighted to have started immediately with work on-site.

“These homes have been designed to appeal to a significant number of local purchasers and as we’ve seen on our other local developments, we anticipate that first-time buyers, young professionals and growing families will be particularly attracted to this site and expect interest to be strong.”

Twenty percent of the homes will be designated as affordable and it is expected that the development will support numerous jobs in the local community, whilst an on-site equipped play area and improvements to off-site open public space will be financed by Macbryde Homes.  A financial contribution has also been made towards improvements to the local highways network.

The properties, all of which will be two-stories high, are located on the edge of open countryside and will enjoy far-reaching views.  They have been designed to sit comfortably within the context of the local built environment and landscaping will be focused on a mix of ornamental plants and native species to encourage local wildlife to forage.

Sales will launch later this Spring from Macbryde’s nearby site in Abergele.
