Hat maker invites people to enter online competition to win her home

"We come from a farming community and Somerset is known for its lovely landscapes and high standard of farming. If our family had to leave Wales, this would be the place to go."
Aston Griffiths

A hat-maker is inviting people to take a punt on an online competition – for the chance to win her luxury home in ‘mini-Wales’.

Tricia Hamilton was speaking at a 4N networking event at when she told people about the chance to win her 19thcentury home in Somerset.

And her business contact, Aston Griffiths, who grew up in Carmathen, has likened the county to a ‘home from home’.

Aston, who runs LGCA Accountancy practice, said: “We refer to Somerset as ‘mini-Wales’ and a home from home.

“We come from a farming community and Somerset is known for its lovely landscapes and high standard of farming. If our family had to leave Wales, this would be the place to go.”

The one-million pound property, called Roselands, in Pill, was built in 1829 and comes with half an acre of land.

It is a four-bedroom cottage which boasts 17 rooms over three floors, including three bathrooms, two reception rooms, and several outhouses.

Tricia, who runs Tricia Designs, has launched a spot the hat competition at £10 a go. She told networkers about the opportunity at the event at Miskin Manor Hotel, Glamorgan.

It has to follow legal guidelines and investor and property mentor Ben Goldsmith believes the competition reflects the ways that people are trying to find new ways to sell their properties -outside of traditional estate agent routes.

He said: “The home-owners could decide to simple enjoy it as it is, find ways to make money from it or see it as a future investment as its value is likely to increase over time.

“For just £10, someone could be in with the chance to win a lovely property, mortgage free.”

Tricia hopes to use proceeds to reinvest in her business and give a donation to charity.

People can enter the competition until November 15, 2018.
