"It was great to invite local school children and councillors to unveil the memorial on what turned out to be a lovely, bright day that we will remember for a long time. "
Tonia Tyler, sales director for Redrow Homes
Redrow Homes South Midlands planted an English Oak tree of remembrance and laid a memorial plaque on Tuesday 26 February, alongside children from St Blaise C of E Primary School and Councillors Zena Hoskins, Mark Smith and Joy Hyde who were invited to commemorate those that fought in WW1.
The tree, which was donated by Milton Parish Council and planted by Redrow Homes, will become a central feature on the development, providing residents and those in the local area with a quiet place to reflect.
Tonia Tyler, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), said: ‘We are honoured to show our gratitude for those who fought in WW1 by planting a tree of remembrance at our Blaise Park development.
“It was great to invite local school children and councillors to unveil the memorial on what turned out to be a lovely, bright day that we will remember for a long time. As the tree grows, we hope that it becomes established as a place for residents and those in the surrounding community to take a quiet moment of reflection.”
