Local couple get the key to their happily ever after

"We love our new home, and are thrilled to be living at Blaise Park. We have already made so many memories here our favourite, of course, is getting engaged!"
Hind Chebli

Wedding bells were ringing at Redrow’s Blaise Park development, on Milton Hill, when Pedro Nascimento proposed to partner, Hind Chebli, on the first day in their new home.

Originally from Morocco and Portugal, the couple met in May 2017 and decided to buy their first property together at the end of 2019. They first set eyes on Redrow flags in Reading, where they wanted to plant roots and discover their dream home. After falling in love with its cosy feel, the pair set their sights on The Amberley, a three-bedroom detached property, complete with a large open-plan kitchen and spacious garden.

As part of their dream home checklist, the couple were keen for their new property to feature a south-facing garden. With this in mind, the Redrow sales team arranged for the couple to visit Blaise Park in Oxford, where their perfect home ticked all of their boxes and was available just a short drive away.

Pedro and Hind immediately fell in love all over again, making the twenty mile move to Oxford a no-brainer. They returned the next day to reserve their preferred plot, and were delighted to complete once their home was built.

Hind commented: “In Morrocco, most people prefer to buy a brand-new property, due to their finish and low-maintenance, so it felt natural for us to do the same. It allowed us to utilise the government’s Help to Buy scheme to buy our dream property and make our first step onto the property ladder.

“We were initially drawn to Redrow as the homes that we looked at were well-built and spacious, yet maintained a sense of character that new-builds often struggle to achieve.

On the day the couple got the keys to their first home together, Pedro got down on one knee just before they collected their keys and asked Hind to marry him, making the first day of life in their new home one to remember.

Hind added: “The day we received the keys was incredibly special to the both of us. I couldn’t believe it when Pedro asked me to marry him, but the moment felt right and it couldn’t have been more perfect.”

Pedro and Hind’s home, The Amberley, is designed with both practicality and style at its core. It’s filled with all of the latest features that a modern couple could need, while the contemporary, elegant interiors mean homeowners can enjoy them in luxury.

Hind concluded: “From the minute we stepped foot into the sales office, the Redrow team were incredibly friendly, and the quality of the customer service matched the quality of their houses. The teams at both developments were on hand to guide us through every step of the process, even helping us to choose some of the interior options when we couldn’t decide ourselves!”

“We love our new home, and are thrilled to be living at Blaise Park. We have already made so many memories here – our favourite, of course, is getting engaged! Redrow has made the entire process incredibly easy – we couldn’t be happier.”

Those looking to move to Blaise Park in Oxford can also take advantage of the government-backed Help to Buy scheme, which has already helped more than 150,000 people purchase their own home.

With the Help to Buy scheme, buyers only need a deposit of five percent to secure a home. The government will then lend 20 percent of the overcall cost of the property in the form of an equity loan, meaning movers will only need a 75 percent mortgage to make up the rest. The scheme allows people to have access to more affordable interest rates typically associated with a 25 percent deposit, and offers an acessible way to get onto the property ladder.

Blaise Park offers the ideal balance of rural living and great connections to surrounding towns, including Abingdon and Didcot. The centre of Oxford is just 11 miles away from the development, and the nearby Didcot Parkway train station means you can travel to Reading or Swindon in around 15 minutes, Oxford in 30 minutes, and London Paddington in less than an hour.

With a primary school on your doorstep, and a brand new secondary school nearby, the development couldn’t be more convinent for families, and is perfect for couples looking to find their forever home.
