L&Q Launch Second Phase of Shared Ownership in Milton Keynes

L&Q Launch Second Phase of Shared Ownership in Milton Keynes

"With average deposits in the area now reaching 38,671, Shared Ownership purchasers at Saxon Reach can get onto the ladder with a deposit from as little as 4,000. "
Christine Osborne

Following a highly successful off-plan launch in November 2019, L&Q is launching the second phase of Shared Ownership homes at their new Milton Keynes development, Saxon Reach, on 29th February. The first release in this phase will be a collection of five one-bedroom apartments, offering an affordable route onto the property ladder for local first time buyers who are struggling to compete with rising house prices in the increasingly popular area.

Creating a thriving new district just outside of Milton Keynes, once complete, Saxon Reach will offer 225 high quality homes, including a high proportion of Shared Ownership homes. Two bedroom Shared Ownership apartments and two and three bedroom Shared Ownership houses will launch in future phases.

Christine Osborne, Sales and Customer Service Director for L&Q’s Counties region, comments: “Our positive off-plan launch at Saxon Reach demonstrates that demand for high-quality affordable homes remains strong in Milton Keynes. Undoubtedly an emerging property hotspot for first time buyers, the area has seen average property values increase by 12% over the last three years. With average deposits in the area now reaching £38,671, Shared Ownership purchasers at Saxon Reach can get onto the ladder with a deposit from as little as £4,000. We’re thrilled to be supporting prospective buyers onto the property ladder in this thriving area and are looking forward to another successful launch.”

Saxon Reach is one of the first developments forming part of L&Q’s New-Build Homes: Quality Standard promise, a commitment to delivering premium fixtures, fittings and appliances as standard; at no additional cost to the buyer.

The stylish homes all offer high-quality specification throughout; Nobilia kitchens are complete with integrated appliances, while bathrooms feature sleek sanitaryware and chrome fixtures. Underfoot, all homes are fitted with premium Amtico flooring, plush carpet and gloss porcelain tiling. The bedroom is fitted with mirrored sliding wardrobes and the majority will have an en-suite. All apartments at Saxon Reach come with a private balcony.

Set near picturesque Wavendon, the development is ideally located for a variety of buyers, including growing families and young professionals. The development offers a balance of city and country living, with the bustling town of Milton Keynes reachable in only 10 minutes, and the peaceful countryside within walking distance of the homes. Conveniently placed for commuters, Milton Keynes Central railway station is an 11 minute drive from the development, with direct trains to London Euston taking 33 minutes. Woburn Sands railway station is also a 5 minute drive from Saxon Reach, where trains to Bletchley take 11 minutes and 31 minutes to Bedford.

Surrounded by green space, there are plenty of parks for residents at Saxon Reach to enjoy. A 6 minute drive away, Willen Lake is the most popular park in Milton Keynes and is home to the Treetop Extreme experience, water sports and a vast selection of walking routes. Kents Hill Park at Hawkhurst Gate is a 4 minute drive away and is one of the many nature reserves in Milton Keynes.

With a fantastic selection of restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as one of the country’s top shopping destinations, Milton Keynes offers plenty for residents of all ages to enjoy. Centre:MK was recently listed the 9th best shopping centre in the UK and is home to 1000’s of brands and food spots, as well as a variety of free activities and events each month. Local favourite pub, bar and restaurant The Wavendon Arms is a short trip from the new homes, as is buzzing venue The Stables, which holds regular concerts and shows.

Saxon Reach is part of the wider Glebe Farm development area, a growing new residential quarter for Milton Keynes, which will meet the demands of the budding town. Glebe Farm will deliver new retail and commercial facilities, a doctor’s surgery and sports and leisure facilities, as well as an extension of the Milton Keynes Redway system – a 200 mile network of shared use paths for cyclists and pedestrians. Perfect for families, the site will also be home to two new schools – a primary and a secondary school.

Pricing starts from £80,000 for a 40% share of a one bedroom apartment (full market value £200,000). Register interest at: lqhomes.com/saxonreach
