Sarah and Lee Humphreys are delighted with their forever home at Bellway’s Earlsfield Park development in Huyton and have spent the recent lockdown getting to know their new neighbours and the stunning woodland on their doorstep.

Both from Liverpool, the couple were the first residents to move onto the development in January, just before the Government announced the strict lockdown restrictions at the end of March to help combat the coronavirus pandemic.

And despite being desperate to hit the shops to decorate and furnish their new home, the couple have rather enjoyed the last few months in splendid isolation – working from home, relaxing in the garden and taking their dog for long walks in the countryside – but are now looking forward to showing off the property to family and friends.

“We’re just so happy with everything,” said Sarah, “The layout, style and space in the house, and our beautiful garden.  We’re so lucky to have made the move when we did, I don’t think we would’ve had the same lockdown experience in our old home.”

Sarah and Lee’s previous home was an older property, with a formal lounge at the front of the house and a narrow galley-style kitchen. To make the space more flexible, they considered moving walls and installing bi-folding doors, but ultimately didn’t want to live through a renovation project so started looking at local new build developments.

Just one visit to Bellway’s Earlsfield Park on Knowlsey Lane in Huyton was enough for them to know that this was the perfect place for them, and they immediately reserved a four bedroom Firswood house type which had the open plan easy living spaces that they had been looking for and a great garden.

With both families living within easy reach, it was a great base for the homely couple with the added bonus of footpaths and open green space close by for walking their little Caverpoo and the M57 within minutes away that provides links to the M62 and Knowsley Expressway.  During the recent lockdown they really got chance to enjoy their new home and explore their new surroundings.

Sarah says: “We just love the kitchen diner with its corner sofa looking out over the garden and spend a lot of our time in here – cooking, relaxing and chatting. It’s a great family space with doors that open out onto the garden and will be the perfect place for entertaining when we can have more people round again.

“I’m also in love with the master bedroom which has a vaulted ceiling which we’ve styled with a fabulous drop pendant light that adds a dramatic effect to the high ceiling space.  With so many things in our new house to enjoy, it’s actually been a pleasure to have to stay at home.”

Senior analyst Lee has recently gone back to work while finance business partner Sarah plans to continue to work from home for a little longer.  With things gradually returning to normal, they can appreciate how lucky they have been and how many options their new home has given them over the lockdown.

“Despite the fact that my office is at the end of the road and I can walk to work, I have been based at home,” said Sarah, “So we turned one of the four bedrooms into an office giving me the choice of working from home indefinitely.”

“We’ve relaxed into a new lifestyle that we love,” adds Lee, “After a day’s work, we enjoy eating in the kitchen diner or in the garden and then we take the dog out for a walk.  In just a few minutes we’re on great footpaths where we can let the dog off the lead and we generally take a walk around the pond up at Kings Business Park and then head home and sit in the garden.  We’re delighted to have made the move and really lucky to have done it when we did.”

With homes currently starting from £212,995, Earlsfield Park is a superb development of high quality three and four bedroom homes in Huyton, close to the motorway network for commuting yet within walking distance of green open space and countryside.
