Housebuilder Predicts Positive Year After Strong Start in Lancashire

"Were looking forward to getting more people on the property ladder this year, as well as supporting those looking to move to a new house too."
Clare Noakes, Sales Director

National housebuilder, Miller Homes recently released a collection of 3 and 4 bedroom homes at The Calders, a housing development located in the beautiful hillside village of Cliviger. Within the first day of the digital launch, 7 out of the initial 10 homes put on sale (70%) had been reserved.

Alongside the impressive sales figures, the housebuilder reports a total of 117 phone calls over the initial weekend launch; with feedback being positive, indicating that this North West development is set to be a popular one.

Clare Noakes, Sales Director at Miller Homes North West believes this is a sign of great things to come for the property industry in 2021: “It’s very positive to see such a success from the launch of the first homes at The Calders. Despite not having a physical sales centre or show home yet, we are already exceeding expectations for this development. This is very telling of the attitudes amongst buyers in the North West.

“I’d like to think that this is representative of the property market as a whole at the moment. Various incentives such as the extended Stamp Duty holiday and the new Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme mean that buying a property is very attractive this year. Plus, home means more now than it ever did before, buyers are realising the value of a home office space as more adjust to long-term working from home, others are interested in large gardens and living in semi-rural locations with plenty of green space.”

This is backed up by a recent survey by Rightmove where it was found that almost a third of buyers want to live in a more rural location, with that figure including one in five first time buyers too.

Clare adds: "Our Cliviger development is just one success story from a number across the North West so far this year and so we’re looking forward to what the future holds.”

The Calders is an exciting new development in the Burnley area; the sales centre is opening in March, with the show home following this summer. The development is located on Red Lees Road and features some of the newest house type designs in the Miller Homes portfolio. Prices start from £219,995 on the website and more information can be found online.
