Harvey Homes builds relationship with local community

"I think the coronavirus situation has highlighted just how important family time is and we are proud of the fact that our houses have always been designed with families in mind"
Director of Harvey Homes, Tom Ratcliffe

Family-owned housebuilder Harvey Homes is working hard to bring positivity to families during the current coronavirus crisis and is continuing to build connections with the local community in Knutsford.

Co-Founder and Director of Harvey Homes, Tom Ratcliffe is currently working as a community volunteer in Lower Peover to aid local residents and provide support wherever possible.

Harvey Homes is also working to bring positivity to its online communities through a children’s competition and a ‘nominate a neighbour’ campaign. The children’s competition is to design the perfect lockdown home, with the best designs in with a chance of winning a Family Days Out Choice Voucher from BuyaGift.

Submissions need to be sent to Harvey Homes via email: hello@harvey-homes.co.uk or Facebook Messenger to https://www.facebook.com/harveyhomesgroup by Friday, 1st May.

The ‘nominate a neighbour’ social media campaign is designed to encourage people to nominate three people who they would most like to live near during lockdown. The idea is to foster togetherness and feelings of goodwill.

Tom Ratcliffe commented: “Since we first started work on site in Lower Peover, the community has been so supportive, and we have really enjoyed getting to know the local residents and businesses.

“The unprecedented situation in which we currently find ourselves threatens to pull communities apart and so we want to do everything we can to bring people together again.

“We’re very special in that we are a family business and therefore we always prioritise families and understand their needs. I think the coronavirus situation has highlighted just how important family time is and we are proud of the fact that our houses have always been designed with families in mind, to foster and encourage quality time together.

“Interestingly, we’re still receiving enquiries for our homes, especially from people who are looking to move to village locations in the countryside. It’s like people are suddenly realising the true value of a local community and amenities which is understandable in the current climate.”

The Harvey Homes show home at Swan Green in Knutsford, Cheshire is currently closed and will be until the restrictions on movement in the UK have been lifted. However, Harvey Homes is able to offer virtual tours through a newly commissioned video that allows potential buyers to feel as though they are there and be immersed in the beautiful interior and light-filled spaces.

This video is available on the housebuilder’s website and social media channels. Harvey Homes’ customer care and sales teams are still fully operational and are available to talk to interested buyers during the day and in the evening by appointment only.

Swan Green is Harvey Homes’ first development and is paving the way for many more exciting projects across the North West region. Their ethos is to build homes that offer modern comforts and contemporary living within walking distance of traditional village settings. The 30 homes at Swan Green range from two-bedroom mews and semi-detached homes to four and five-bedroom detached houses.
