Axis Land Partnerships secure affordable homes during lockdown

"It's great that as well as providing much-needed affordable housing in the area we have managed to secure a new cycleway as part of the outline planning consent for this high quality development."
Phil Grant, Director, Axis Land Partnerships

Axis Land Partnerships successfully achieved planning permission for and completed the sale of a 7.6 acre site in Little Chesterford, Uttlesford for 76 homes to Hill Group.

The site is for 76 homes, 30 of which will be affordable, also provides for over an acre dedicated to landscaping and tree planting to offset carbon and contribute to Uttlesford’s aspirations to plant new trees across the district, as well as providing a much-needed new cycleway to link Little Chesterford to the popular Great Chesterford train station.

Axis Land Partnerships worked in partnership with the landowner and their agent Cheffins in order to deliver a quality place that will deliver wider benefits to the local community. Council officers complimented the team at Axis in the way they had approached the scheme and their positive engagement with planning officers and council legal team.

Phil Grant, Director at Axis Land Partnerships, said:
It's also great that as well as providing much need affordable housing in the area we have managed to secure a new cycleway as part of the outline planning consent and for a considered and high-quality development of 76 new homes which is right for the local community."

The sale to Hill Group, who are renowned for high-quality homes and as a 5-star housebuilder in the region, completed in September.

Axis Land Partnerships are progressing several land sites across the region including for both specialist retirement villages and housing and is looking to work with more landowners to bring forward quality housing sites.

Phil adds:
"Quite often we work with landowners whose families have lived in the local area for generations. They want to leave a legacy in exchange for their land for this reason, so we are seeing a continuing appetite from landowners we work with for high-quality developments that have a legacy attached to them and are mindful towards wellbeing, quality open space and working from home.

"We look forward to continuing to work with all our landowners to help them develop their land in a way that's beneficial to them and the local community, in a way they can be proud of."
