Swansea Change-Makers to Gather at Landmark City Centre Conference

"The Conference will offer an opportunity for all of us who are passionate about the future of our city to come together, to celebrate successes, to spark ideas and new initiatives."
Juliet Luporini, Swansea BID Chair

Business leaders, decision-makers, change agents, investors and residents will gather at a City Centre Conference in Swansea, to showcase their exciting projects, businesses and initiatives, and voice their ambitions for the future of the city.

The City Centre Conference has been organised by Swansea’s 4TheRegion centre for regional engagement, in partnership with Swansea BID (Business Improvement District). It will go ahead on Tuesday 9 April, bringing together people from all business sectors and the local community at Swansea’s LC leisure centre, where Swansea’s future, as well as its present-day achievements, will be explored via four zoned areas – Development and Investment, Destination Swansea, Creative and Digital, and Energy and Environment.

Dawn Lyle, Founder and Chair of 4TheRegion says: “Swansea is going through an important renaissance at the moment, which will have far reaching consequences for its future. We want everyone to have a voice in shaping the ambitions for our city centre.  It is important that all those with an interest in ensuring a vibrant, productive and successful future for Swansea are aware of the regeneration programme, understand its implications and are equipped to capitalise upon the opportunities coming our way. The City Centre Conference will bring all kinds of people and businesses together to help shape a vision for what we want Swansea to become – we would urge everyone to get involved.”

Juliet Luporini, Chair of Swansea BID (Business Improvement District), who will speak at the event, says: “We are very pleased to be a partner of the City Centre Conference. Swansea BID represents more than 800 City Centre businesses across a broad mix of sectors so we see how much hard work, vision and commitment is shown by the business community here, to ensure Swansea is a vibrant and forward thinking place to live, work and visit.

“The City Centre Conference will offer an opportunity for all of us who are passionate about the future of our city to come together, to celebrate successes, to spark ideas and new initiatives, and to look ahead to a bright future for the region.”

The City Centre Conference is being sponsored by Gower College Swansea, who want to see opportunities for young people to develop great careers in the city.  Gower College Swansea operates in the city centre and owns property on the Kingsway.  The event is free to attendees, with businesses and changemakers being encouraged to book space in the four zones, whether they are involved in, or interested in, construction, development, leisure, tourism, retail, hospitality, the creative economy, well-being, the environment or the clean energy movement.
