Lee Waters AM Shares Aspirations for the Region with Swansea Bay Business Club

"I know the club was encouraged by Lees talk, which struck positive notes about the economic future of the region a view our Club members share."
Alan Brayley, from Swansea Bay Business Club

Lee Waters AM, Deputy Minister for Economy and Transport, praised business owners in the region for generating employment and prosperity, as he shared his aspirations for the region, when he addressed those gathered for Swansea Bay Business Club’s May lunch.

The networking event, which was sponsored by Lloyds Bank, went ahead on Friday 10 May, at Margam Orangery, Port Talbot, with the Assembly Member joining club members and their guests for lunch and networking. He spoke with enthusiasm about Wales' economic regions, and how close working between the Welsh Government and locally-owned and managed firms can make communities stronger and more resilient.

Acting President of Swansea Bay Business Club, Alan Brayley, says: “I know the club was encouraged by Lee’s talk, which struck positive notes about the economic future of the region – a view our Club members share. It was interesting too, to hear how Lee’s upbringing and his former media career has informed his political life.”

Alan adds: “We were pleased to return to Port Talbot for this May lunch after holding our last event in Swansea. It is important to us as a Club that our focus is trained upon the whole of the Swansea Bay region. As the business club continues to enjoy its 70th year celebration we are keen to build upon a strong start to 2019. Happily, we are close to reaching our target of attracting 70 new members throughout this year.I would encourage businesses in the Swansea Bay area to join us for our next gathering, in June, with Kathryn Jones, Sales and Marketing Director at Castell Howell Foods.

Tickets to Swansea Bay Business Club’s 14 June lunch, which has been sponsored by Morgan and Morgan, are available for £25 for members and £32.50 for non-members. This event goes ahead at the Halliwell Centre, Carmarthen, and includes a two-course lunch. Bookings will close at midnight on Friday 7 June, one week before the event.
