"We've seen the impact Wigan Youth Zone has on the next generation. They help children from all walks of life to realise their potential, so we were keen to raise funds to support this vital work."

STAFF from digital marketing agency ATTAIN took part in Wigan 10k in aid of a youth charity close to their hearts.
Every member of the ATTAIN team, who are based in the town, took part in the run, raising more than £450 for Wigan Youth Zone.
ATTAIN’s Commercial Manager Jackie Salt said: “Through our support of the charity throughout the past few years, we have directly seen the impact that Wigan Youth Zone has on the next generation. They help children from all walks of life to realise their potential, so we were keen to raise funds to support this vital work.
“We have taken part in the 10k for a few years now, but this is the first time the whole ATTAIN team has pounded the pavements together – it was a great day with fantastic team spirit from all the staff – who range from avid runners to novices. Between us, we clocked up 10 hours of running.”
There were a total of 2797 registered runners for the Wigan 10k and 595 for the Family Mile – with 80 volunteers and hundreds of supporters lining the streets. Next year’s run will be on Sunday, September 6 and registration is now open here.
More than 50 runners took part for Wigan Youth Zone (WYZ), which is a purpose-built youth facility in Wigan town centre. It offers young people aged 8-21 from across the borough the opportunity to meet friends, have new experiences, learn new skills and access the support they need to develop and achieve their potential. There are more than 15 dedicated areas to choose from within WYZ including football pitches, an art room, music room and climbing wall.
