"EmpowerHER Digital Conference is about empowering, inspiring and educating our community. Basically, doing this charity event gives us a reason to end the year feeling happy, positive and inspired."
Olivia Hanlon, Founder of Girls in Marketing
Girls in Marketing is currently operating as a virtual business and it is a platform built by marketers, for marketers. Founded by Liverpudlian entrepreneur, Olivia Hanlon, Girls in Marketing now has a following of over 80,0000 people across their social media channels. The business is totally dedicated to creating a safe community for marketers, while providing affordable education to help both professional and aspiring marketers.
While most small businesses took a hit after the UK entered a nationwide lockdown, Girls in Marketing began to thrive and grow. As the world learned how to fully operate online, the business started holding more workshops, webinars and even hosted a virtual graduation ceremony for students graduating during a global pandemic.
In honour of celebrating the new year, Girls in Marketing’s EmpowerHER Digital Conference 2020 is encouraging marketers to continue their development and listen to some inspiring talks from successful femxle founders and marketers. The conference, hosted by Founder and Managing Director of Girls in Marketing, Olivia Hanlon, will have eight speakers from a range of different backgrounds and sectors of marketing. Some of the topics that will be covered include personal branding, how to grow your social media following and combatting imposter syndrome.
The current confirmed speakers are Soyna Barlow, an award-winning entrepreneur, TEDXSpeaker and diversity consultant; Tiwalola Ogunlesi, a qualified coach specialising in positive psychology and Founder of Confident and Killing It and Claudia Cardinali, a storyteller for the personal branding agency Great Influence, among many more.
Girls in Marketing recognises the hardships people have endured during 2020, particularly those from Black and BAME communities, and other minority backgrounds. With this in mind, Girls in Marketing are donating 50% of all the proceeds from this event to Exist Loudly UK, a London-based non-profit organisation committed to creating spaces of joy for queer Black youth.
Olivia Hanlon said, “EmpowerHER Digital Conference is about empowering, inspiring and educating our community. Basically, we want to end 2020 with a bang and doing this charity event gives us a reason to end the year feeling happy, positive and inspired.”
Tickets for this event cost £10 (with a £5 donation to charity) and more information can be found here.
