Female entrepreneur appointed as Entrepreneur in Residence at LUMS

"I am absolutely thrilled to cement my long relationship with Lancaster University with this appointment. And, I cant wait to get started. "
Janie Ash

Ash has a 20 year relationship with Lancaster University Management School as a graduate, supplier and business owner on LEAD and The Lancashire Forum.

Ash has built her reputation as an early adopter and likes to be ahead of the curve. She embraced the dotcom boom launching the first social media technology in UK and Europe before moving on to hone her skills with mobile content and campaigns for the likes of Diageo and Warner Bros.

She is rightly proud of her achievements; “My journey to becoming a leading entrepreneur has been colourful and varied, and given me the experience I needed to run a successful creative agency. I have had a film script optioned by 20th Century Fox, helped to set up radio stations in Lancaster and Belfast, and headed up a number of marketing agencies – all the time building my reputation as a multi-platform marketing expert.”

Ricardo Zozimo, Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at LUMS, said: “Entrepreneurs are the stars of our community and an important part of Lancaster University Management School.
“By working closely with them and welcoming them into the heart of our School, they bring alternative viewpoints and experiences directly from the front line of business. They help to keep our research and programmes sharp, and offer crucial insights to our students.
“It’s a great experience for our Entrepreneurs in Residence too – they get to work with fantastic students with fresh ideas, strengthen their networks and access world-class academics.”

“I am absolutely thrilled to cement my long relationship with Lancaster University with this appointment. And, I can’t wait to get started.” enthuses Ash.

Those invited to be part of Lancaster University Management School’s Entrepreneurs in Residence scheme volunteer two or three consecutive days a year to spend in the School to share their stories, lessons learnt and expertise. They take part in a range of activities while on campus varying from judging students’ business ideas, mock interviews, masterclasses and guest speaker opportunities. In return, entrepreneurs become embedded in the school and its way of thinking. They spend more time helping students, get fantastic networking opportunities and access world-leading academics from across Lancaster University.
