Digital marketing business experiences 500 per cent growth during lockdown

Red Rag Marketing based in Cheshire aims to help all types of businesses grow their brand and expand their customer base through the power of social media advertising platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.

Digital marketing business experiences 500 per cent growth during lockdown

"Because of COVID-19 the whole world began buying online, and 70 percent of all online traffic is within systems or services owned by Facebook or Google"
Jamie Parker CEO of Red Rag Marketing

A Facebook Advertising Agency has experienced a 500 percent growth in the last eight months, transforming it from a one-man-band business to a global team of specialists.

From May to December 2020 Red Rag Marketing experienced a 500 percent growth in turnover, while the company’s workforce has increased to a seven-strong team based across the globe from Shanghai to Canada.

Red Rag Marketing was founded by Cheshire entrepreneur Jamie Parker, who took the plunge to go full-time as a digital business owner 18 months ago. While initially the pandemic and lockdown one made many businesses put their marketing plans on hold, when it became clear waiting for business as normal wasn’t an option, Jamie’s fledgling digital business began to boom.

Jamie says: “Because of COVID-19 the whole world began buying online, and with 70 percent of all online traffic being within systems or services owned by Facebook or Google, if you want to grab attention you have to be active on one of those.

“Once companies realised waiting for business to begin as before wasn’t an option, they soon wanted a social media selling strategy.

“Facebook is growing year on year, and 60 percent of the UK population use Facebook daily.

“The platform has so many data points that it can predict people’s behaviours and buying habits, and when you’re able to pinpoint your ideal customer down to their exact location it makes it an incredibly powerful tool.

“During lockdown one, I offered weekly webinars for smaller businesses who weren’t social media savvy, before going on to develop our Facebook Advertising Mastery training program so business owners can utilise the platform fully.”

Jamie’s hard work to raise the profile of Red Rag Marketing paid off, and in September 2020 he was approached by Worcester Bosch to develop a series of training packages for their dealer network throughout the UK.

“That was a big deal for us and was a wonderful way to mark our first year of being in business.”

In 2020 Red Rag was recognised as Marketing one of the top B2B companies in the UK by Clutch, a leading market research firm, based on the company’s past work, online presence, brand reputation, and customer reviews left on Clutch.

The Red Rag Marketing team now includes SEO optimisation specialists, a content specialist, media buyers and account managers. The latest addition to the agency has been Jamie’s brother, Christian Parker, as an account manager.

Other services now offered by Red Rag Marketing include Instagram Ads Marketing and LinkedIn Ads Marketing, with the aim of generating high-quality sales leads.
