Leeds-based Vantage Motorhomes is celebrating the 10th birthday of the Vantage MED, the Company’s highly popular compact rear lounge motorhome. The first MED was built in 2009 and the popular rear lounge model was the third van in the Vantage Motorhomes range after the MAX and the NEO. There are now 10 models, ranging in size from 4.97 metres to 6.36 metres, with a choice of front and rear lounge layouts.
At only 5.41 metres the MED offers a surprising level of space and comfort. It is extremely versatile and is suitable for everyday use as well as for recreation. By way of celebration Vantage has put together three promotional offers, a Comfort Pack, a Leisure Pack and a TV Pack where customers can make savings of up to 40%.
Vantage started manufacturing panel van conversions in 2007 and is now one of the largest independent van conversion specialists in the UK. The Company was established by two motorhome enthusiasts who became frustrated at not being able to get exactly what they wanted for their own needs. They literally decided to design their own motorhome and in doing so ironed out a number of problems that they’d experienced during years of motorhoming holidays.
The Company went from strength to strength and caught the attention of Michael Hardicker in early 2016. ‘I’d been aware of the quality and reputation of the Vantage range for some time from visiting their stand at the NEC and I felt that the Vantage brand would complement our activities at Signature Motorhomes & Leisure.’ Hardicker is Managing Director of Signature, the Preston-based dealer of Adria, Globecar, Pilote and Le Voyageur motorhomes.
A visit to the Vantage factory in Leeds followed. ‘Having seen first hand the skilled and dedicated workforce building a premium quality product, I was in no doubt that taking over the Company would be a very good move. The business was built on the values of quality and service and we continue to build on that legacy. We respect our Vantage heritage and it’s great to now be celebrating the MED’s 10th birthday,’ said Hardicker.
In the three years since the buyout there has been a gradual programme to introduce a number of innovations and improvements to both processes and design. The central Leeds Factory Showroom has been expanded and the work-force continues to grow to meet increasing demand.
The Company has received many awards in recent years from the most prestigious and critical publications in the industry and it consistently comes out top in a range of owner satisfaction polls.
