Small Hands Company might need a bigger pair of hands soon…

Business and real-life partners Fiona and Dominic Hornsby along with fellow partner Ian Forster of the Small Hands Company have revealed that they’ve acquired a second pub business in Liverpool after successfully relaunching The Bridewell last Summer.

The Denbigh Castle is being relaunched in its original name after the Hornsby’s became aware of the opportunity to revive it.

“Having served our time for more than a decade in the industry on Dale Street, we both really like that part of town as well as the L1 district,” said Fiona.

“There’s a hive of activity from nearby shopping and the business district plus the pub itself is so old and was originally called The Denbigh Castle.”

Dominic maintains that customers can expect the same quality products and service that we have in The Bridewell.

“We’re bringing a mix of German lagers, cask and craft beers and an extensive spirit range alongside our vegan wine list and of course, the warmest of welcomes.”

Whilst The Denbigh Castle won’t serve food, it will feature sport and utilise its downstairs bars for functions and events.

Industry specialist Ian worked at Rigby’s and The Lion on Tithebarn Street before moving to Yorkshire where he ran successful pubs in Leeds.

He said: “I’ve returned home after 10 years because I miss the city, there’s such a great vibe around the place and I’m delighted to be reunited with Fiona and Dom. Nobody knows the industry better here.”

One punter, Penelope Ribblesbotham was looking forward to her first drink and reacquainting with three of the most popular and knowledgeable publicans in the city:

“They've always been passionate about pubs as the heartbeat of the local business community and I’m looking forward to enjoying a libation with them again and toasting their success. I’m sure I speak for many in the area too.”
