Preston-based MasterCraft Boats UK celebrate Innovation Award at Miami Boat Show

"MasterCraft is expanding its dominance in the market with its wake surfing technology and the new X24 brings several new developments that improve the experience for both the driver and the rider. "
MD Michael Hardicker

The team at Preston-based MasterCraft Boats UK is celebrating a major international award for innovation for the MasterCraft X24 sports boat.

Presented at Miami Boat Show, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and Boating Writers Internationa (BWI) selected MasterCraft’s X24 as a winner of a 2019 Innovation Award. The awards recognise exceptional and groundbreaking new consumer marine products.

MasterCraft Boats UK is the UK distributor of MasterCraft boats, supporting a network of dealers throughout the country. It also handles international sales of MasterCraft bespoke tenders through its superyacht tenders division. The Company’s MD, Michael Hardicker, explains what this means for customers. ‘MasterCraft is expanding its dominance in the market with its wake surfing technology and the new X24 brings several new developments that improve the experience for both the driver and the rider. Our clients really appreciate how easy it is to create a great on the water experience in the X24.’

MasterCraft’s engineers have developed a new surf-specific hull design that when equipped with up to 1,949 kg (4,300 lbs) of ballast and MasterCraft’s Gen 2 Surf System, creates the industry’s largest wake. It is perfectly sculpted and customized through MasterCraft technology.

For superyacht customers the X24 is particularly attractive as it offers a luxurious cabin with room for 18 passengers. A full range of bespoke options is available depending on the needs of owners.

The MasterCraft X24, seen in Europe for the first time at Düsseldorf Boat Show at the beginning of the year, includes further innovations. The new FastFill Ballast System fills the X24’s ballast tanks in under three minutes. The X24 also sees the introduction of the Switchback Ballast Tank. Once full, the tank instantly shifts ballast from side-to-side to suit the rider’s preference.

The Innovation Awards were presented during Miami Boat Show and this year’s programme evaluated 66 products across 26 categories. The Innovation Awards judges committee is made up of eight BWI members who perform product testing throughout the year and have specific expertise in marine products and equipment.  MasterCraft Boats was also the recipient of an award for Customer Satisfaction that was presented at the same time.

MasterCraft Boats UK’s head office and showroom is located just minutes off the M6 at Junction 31A.You can find out more here http://www.mastercraft.co.uk/home
