With the warmer months commencing and UK lockdown restrictions continuing to ease, what better time to prepare for those BBQ nights in the garden with friends? And what better way than by fixing a few alcoholic slushies or two? These delicious, thirst-quenching drinks combine elements of nostalgia, summer, and of course, alcohol, all in one! They are the perfect drink to surprise your friends and family with.

There are an endless amount of slush syrup flavours out there that mix perfectly with a splash of alcohol – whether you prefer vodka, rum, gin, or wine. Here, we provide the ultimate summer 2021 alcoholic slush guide that will leave your mouth watering.

Strawberry lemonade and vodka slush, anyone?

To truly capture a taste of summer, strawberry lemonade slushies with a splash (or two) of vodka are perfect. The best thing is that they are easy to make as they don’t require a lot of ingredients.

For this, you will need the following.

·       340g SnowShock Strawberry Concentrate (frozen and thawed)

·       Frozen strawberries

·       237ml vodka (adjust to strength of alcohol you want)

·       Sprite

·       Ice (broken up into smaller pieces)

·       Sugar – to serve

Pour into a blender and mix everything together!

To serve your slush in cocktail-bar style, take the lemon, wipe it around the rim of your serving glasses, then dip them in sugar.

The ultimate brandy slush

Sick and tired of bringing a plain old bottle of wine to a house party? Spice things up and make a tub of this the night before. For a slush guide that serves 21 people, take note of the below.

You will need:

·       9 x 240ml water (kept in separate cups)

·       4 green or black tea bags

·       355ml of thawed and frozen SnowShock Lemonade Concentrate

·       273ml of brandy

·       1 can of frozen and thawed orange juice concentrate

The key to this slush is to make sure to start making it the day before you need it for. So, start off by pouring 480ml of boiled water into a bowl with the tea bags. Leave this for five minutes, then remove the tea bags.

Next, stir in the brandy, lemonade, orange juice concentrate, and the remaining water. You may need to move this into a bigger bowl, and make sure it is freezable! Then, place in the freezer overnight or until your slush mixture has set. And then you’re good to go!

Give your brandy slush the presentation it deserves by serving in a rocks glass that contains ¾ of the slush mix with ¼ lemon-lime soda.

Wild wine slush

Wine nights are the best nights. So, for the next one, why not make a wine-inspired slush? The beauty of wine is that it tastes good mixed with a variety of fruits, so whether you prefer strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries, all will work a treat. Here is how you make four mouth-watering wine slushies.

First, collect the following ingredients.

·       384g of fruit (these can be made up of one fruit, or a mixture of many!)

·       480ml of your favourite white wine

·       make 120ml of SnowShock slush syrup (there are a variety of fruit flavours depending on which one you opt for)

Before you start, make sure to freeze your fruit overnight. Then, blend everything together and serve.

A gin slush treat

For a tropical gin drink that serves four, use this easy-to-follow guide to create the ultimate orange and mandarin gin slush surprise.

You will need the following.

·       128g ice cubes

·       500g orange flesh (approx. 3 oranges)

·       extra slices of orange to serve

·       300g mandarin flesh (approx. 4 seedless mandarins)

·       SnowShock Exotic Fruit Concentrate (pour to taste)

·       125ml gin

Firstly, cut the orange and mandarin pieces into smaller bits. Then, store in a zip-lock bag and place in the freezer overnight. Next, place the frozen fruit and ice in a blender and blend until everything is finely chopped.

Add the slush syrup and the gin into the blender and blend until a smooth liquid is formed. Just like that, you have four delicious gin slush drinks.
