Bury based law firm Clough & Willis has confirmed the latest date in its series of free employment law events that aim to educate and inform local businesses on new legislation and issues. The next event will be on Post Termination Restrictions and will be taking place on Wednesday 17th September at its Bury office.
Event Overview
Over time, employees will gain knowledge about the business where they work; whether its lists of clients, prices or trade secrets. When they leave they can use that knowledge to potentially damage the business by joining a competitor, poaching the best clients and even staff. However, companies can limit the damage by including Post Termination Restrictions in their employees’ contracts.
These restrictions are notoriously difficult to enforce so it’s imperative that they are well drafted to begin with.
Amy Ross-Sercombe, an employment solicitor at Clough & Willis, will guide delegates through the basics and point out the pitfalls. She will also discuss with attendees the issues they may face and the methods of limiting problems arising.
Amy has worked in-house for a leading national retailer and a national law firm. She advises all types of companies on employment law issues, from SMEs with a small number of employees to PLCs. Amy works with owner managed businesses and with established HR professionals - both in-house and consultants. As well as conducting employment litigation, she has offered employment law advice to many firms on all aspects of employment law and human resource management; from drafting policies and procedures to complex transfer of undertakings matters.
