Independent brewer Joseph Holt has invited ClearSky Pub Solutions to provide human resources (HR) and employment law advice to its network of self-employed publicans.
The agreement signals a strengthening of the relationship between the two firms, which has seen ClearSky provide accounting and payroll support to Holt’s ‘retail partners’ since 2011.
ClearSky will advise Holt-linked publicans on staff disciplinary problems and dismissals, minimising their exposure to tribunal claims. It will also assist with annual leave calculations, along with the drawing up of employment contracts, staff handbooks and HR policies.
That’s in addition to the payroll and accountancy services it already provides, including financial forecasting, bookkeeping, VAT returns, end-of-year company accounts and employee pay processing.

“I’m confident in the company’s ability to deliver on the HR front as well.”
ClearSky Pub Solutions serves more than 300 publicans and pub companies, and is targeting further growth after acquiring the accountancy arm of Bridgewood Financial Solutions earlier this year.
