Horwich Cohen Coghlan (HCC) Solicitors, the national serious injury law firm, is backing a major campaign aimed at producing a safer road system and urging more support for people who have sustained serious injuries.

Project EDWARD (Every Day Without A Road Death) is an annual UK-wide road safety campaign backed by the Government, emergency services, highways agencies and road safety organisations.

The Campaign, managed by the Association for Road Risk Management (ARRM) and RoadSafe, promotes an evidence-led, ‘safe system’ approach – the long-term objective of which is a road traffic system free from death and serious injury.

Martin James, Chief Operating Officer at HCC Solicitors, said:

“Project EDWARD provides a platform that showcases some of the best work being done around the country to promote safe road use, safe speeds and post-collision care.

“We are particularly focused on working with the Project EDWARD team to help create a more supportive infrastructure for families in the aftermath of a road collision.

“As a specialist serious injury law firm we see on a daily basis the devastation caused from collisions on UK roads which result in catastrophic injuries and the loss of loved ones.  We will work with Project EDWARD and its stakeholders to share our experiences in helping victims get faster access to the physical and psychological rehabilitation they need in the aftermath.”

James Luckhurst, founder of Project EDWARD, said:

“We are grateful for the support of HCC Solicitors which means we can continue striving towards our long-term goal of having a traffic system free from death and serious injury. The ethos at HCC Solicitors of creating a supportive family-first approach to representing victims matches our own focus of improving the support available for road users.”
