A Nottinghamshire charity has been gifted a fundraising boost to fight domestic abuse thanks to the Nottingham office of Gateley Legal.

Equation works with communities in and around Nottingham to reduce the impact of domestic abuse, sexual violence and gender inequality.

The donation of £2,765 will fund its male domestic abuse service, school workshops to educate children on healthy relationship topics and campaigns to raise awareness of abuse and where to go for support.

Samantha Billington, trusts and community fundraiser at Equation, said: “We’re so pleased that Gateley Legal chose to support our wonderful charity. The statistics on abuse and violence towards young people are shocking, but this generous contribution will help us to improve the safety of hundreds of people across the county.”

Andrew Macmillan, partner and head of Gateley Legal’s Nottingham's office, said: “I‘m really proud of the team who all came together to raise funds for Equation. We are delighted that this money will go towards fighting domestic abuse and raising awareness of where to seek help and advice.”
