Moore Blatch highly commended at national awards for patient-first collaboration

"This case highlights the results you can achieve if everyone involved is prepared to work in partnership, with the outcome for the client as the number one priority."
Amandeep Khasriya

Moore Blatch has been highly commended in the Partnership Case of the Year category at the Case Management Society UK’s (CMSUK) Awards 2019. The shortlisting recognises Associate Solicitor; Amandeep Khasriya, for her collaborative work with Caroline Carpenter, Case Manager at Health & Case Management (HCML) and Remedy Healthcare UK.

The commendation recognises the significant partnership led by Amandeep Khasriya in order to secure the best rehabilitation support for a client who received life-changing injuries following a road traffic accident. As a result of the partnership and the swift action taken to get the client the appropriate rehabilitation support, the client has made positive steps forward with his recovery and will soon return to work.

From the outset Amandeep agreed with the insurer to adopt a non-adversarial approach to obtain high quality rehabilitation as soon as possible. Funding for the initial needs assessment took place within a week of the claim and interim payments were made available at weeks three and six post-injury. This enabled Caroline to swiftly refer the client to Remedy Healthcare so that he could start an intensive period of private residential rehabilitation just two months after the injury and two weeks after discharge from hospital.

Moore Blatch’s close working relationship with King’s College Hospital was recognised in the nomination. The Major Trauma Service set up by Moore Blatch identifies the needs of a patient at the outset and ensures that, as well as any legal compensation claim, clients receive the additional advice and support that their circumstances require. As a result of this service, Moore Blatch started working with the client nine days after the incident, ensuring that he could access the rehabilitation services set up by HCML immediately.

CMSUK is a non-profit professional body for registered Case Managers in the UK. The awards recognise excellent practice from across the industry. The awards ceremony took place in the Hilton London Tower Bridge Hotel on Friday 13th September.
