Hull-based Hica Group has continued to invest in its senior team with the appointment of a new manager for its Raleigh Court care home.

The move will see Melanie Ward join to manage the day-to-day running of the 54-bedroomed Cambridge Street-based home, oversee the health and wellbeing of residents and provide support for full and part time care workers.

Her responsibilities will also include staff training and development and remaining abreast of current and future legislative requirements.

Melanie Ward, who has plans to develop Raleigh Court as the leading dementia care provider in central Hull, brings over 30 years’ experience to the position, and has previously owned and operated two small care homes for older adults living with dementia.

She said: “I’m really passionate about delivering quality care to the people who we support. I’m now looking forward to drawing on my experience and working with the Hica team to turn Raleigh Court into a centre for dementia care excellence in Hull.”

Raleigh Court is part of the Hica Group, a not for profit organisation, which operates a portfolio of 15 care homes across Hull and the East Riding. The company also runs two retirement villages and a homecare service which provides approximately 11,500 hours of support from four regional offices in the north of England.
