Record results for Alcedo Care Group

"The recent coronavirus pandemic has without doubt heightened the demand for high quality care for people in their own homes. We are committed to delivering the necessary services across the North West"

Despite the ongoing global pandemic, an award-winning North West-based home care group has achieved record results for the last quarter and is now forecasting to beat its predicted £10million turnover by the end of this calendar year.

Family-run Alcedo Care, with offices in Southport, Blackpool and Wigan, has experienced a significant increase in demand for home care services during April, May and June with many clients across the region requiring more support during the recent lockdown.

As a result, the group continues to expand across the North West, recruiting 70 new team members in April and 60 new team members in May increasing its head count by more than 30 per cent and taking its total number of employees to more than 400.

Established in March 2017 with an office in Southport, Alcedo Care has expanded strategically over the years and at a steady pace, gradually opening offices in Blackpool and Wigan.  The coronavirus pandemic has fast forwarded future expansion plans, with the company looking to open new offices in Preston in the very near future and actively looking for a suitable site in Liverpool which will open later this year.

Having experienced a record quarter, the group now forecasts a turnover of £10million by the end of 2020, up 150% on last year, delivering a total of 500,000 hours of care, support and nursing services to people in their own homes.

Andy Boardman, Managing Director at Alcedo Care, comments: “From companionship to 24/7 complex care Live-In Support, the desire to keep loved ones safe and well in their own homes during lockdown increased significantly, and as a result, we recruited 130 new team members in April and May, achieving record financial results.

“With an ever-increasing aging population in the UK, with 3.2 million aged 80 and over and 1.6 million aged 85 and over, many naturally require a degree of help at home.  Our talented team provides exemplary home care, ensuring every client is treated with compassion and respect.  The recent coronavirus pandemic has without doubt heightened the demand for high quality care for people in their own homes, and we are committed to delivering the necessary services across the North West, with further growth planned for this year, and future expansion plans in the pipeline for 2021.”

Established in 2017, Alcedo continues to expand at pace and is fast gaining an enviable reputation as the home care provider of choice and the highest rated by its clients in the UK thanks to its superb 400-strong team of highly skilled and compassionate carers who make a tangible difference to the quality of life of the company’s home care clients.

Run by Andy and Jo Boardman, a passionate husband and wife team, the company aims to bring something different to the sector based on recruiting only the very best carers and retaining them by placing value on job satisfaction, training, continued professional development, internal promotion prospects and pay structure.  This combined with using the very latest technology is what sets the Alcedo Care Group apart from other home care providers.

With offices in Southport, Blackpool and Wigan (and St Helens), Alcedo offers home care services across the North West including Lancashire, Liverpool and Lancaster and Wyre.  For further information on the range of home care services provided by Alcedo, or to discuss home care for yourself or a loved one, please visit www.alcedocare.co.uk or call 01704 829590.
