Carol-Ann said: “It is time for us to not only raise more awareness around mental health and wellbeing, but to get proactive and learn what it takes to be a Wellbeing Warrior.”
Carol-Ann was taught in her early 20’s that limiting thoughts is something that can be changed and she created a simple concept called the ‘Worrier V’s Warrior’ way of thinking that she says changed her life forever - she overcame her own mental health struggles, fears and worries to create a life that she dreamt of.
Carol-Ann continues: “I have struggled with anxiety in the past and felt my confidence and self-belief drop to the floor many times. I work alongside people who have lost hope and come from a place of surviving rather than thriving. I grew up in the most loving, supportive home but saw people struggle to live with depression, with no professional support or guidance beyond medication and a sick note slapped into their hands. They were left with no choice but to find the Warrior within, slap on the war paint on and try to make it through the day, sometimes not for themselves, but for those that they loved unconditionally.
“If you are going through your own mental health and wellbeing journey; I honour you, I see you, I feel you. You are not alone. This book has been created to bring us together in unity. The Warrior Wellbeing Toolkit is a guidebook for men and women who want to be free from their past, feel confident and resilient in their own skin, and live an empowered life knowing that if (or when) life throws them a curve ball, they have their own unique self-help tools and techniques at their fingertips to help keep their wellbeing a top priority. In this book, we’ve brought together mind, body and spirit which is a new approach to mental health in my eyes!”
“This book is a dream come true for me – and for it to become a best-seller overnight is phenomenal!”
Carol-Ann is a Life Coach, International Motivational Speaker and creator of the Warrior Wellbeing in the Workplace program, she heads up the ‘Awaken the Warrior movement’ – she said: “This movement is so important and I encourage everyone to join – why? Because together, we are stronger. Mental health needs more than just awareness, we need to have a pro-active approach towards our own wellbeing. Having a tool kit of self-help tools and techniques, along side a community of fellow warriors for support is the key to a positive mind and life.” To find out more please visit https://www.facebook.com/carolannreidcoach/ or visit https://carolannreid.com/
Alongside the launch of this best-selling book, Carol-Ann has also released the Awaken the Warrior CBT Bands - a unique self-help tool and technique that helps people to overcome anxiety and negative self-talk. You wear the band on your non-dominant wrist, every time you catch yourself having negative or ‘worry’ thoughts, snap your band and replace your thoughts with more positive ‘Warrior’ thinking. (For example 'I'm just not good enough', replace with 'I am enough as I am'.) This is based on the Gold Standard approach to therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - it helps you to become more self-aware and recognise how you are thinking and feeling. The snap of the band interrupts your habitual, negative thought patterns and empowers you to change your thinking by focusing on something more positive and helpful. Over time, your natural way of thinking is more empowering and supports your mental health and wellbeing. You can buy a band at www.carolannreid.com from 10th October, honouring Mental Health Awareness Day.
