Ravenstone, in St Andrews Road, was given an overall rating of ‘Good’ following the CQC team’s visit.
A CQC report judges a care home on its levels of care, responsiveness, safety, effectiveness, and leadership and includes comments from residents and their relatives.
One person told the CQC representatives: "There's always a very happy atmosphere in the lounge with relatives visiting, staff chatting with people and generally things being lively.”
A relative said: "The staff are brilliant and there are enough of them. The [registered] manager and deputy manager are fantastic; they make the families welcome.”
Comments from the inspectors included: “Staff were kind and caring towards people, knew them well and respected their dignity and privacy.”
“The registered manager held an inclusive management style and had strong values around people being at the heart of all continuous improvements.”
“We saw staff valued people as individuals and their approaches were caring and thoughtful where emphasis was placed on celebrating what people could achieve.”

Ravenstone, which is part of Larchwood Care Homes (North) and provides accommodation and nursing care for up to 43 people who have nursing needs.
