NHS and Healthcare Bodies Collaborate for Free Tech Webinars

NHS online medical portal partner digihealthwell is working in collaboration with fellow Staffordshire healthcare partners and the NHS to deliver two free webinars.

NHS and Healthcare Bodies Collaborate for Free Tech Webinars

"The webinars are a fantastic opportunity for people to build confidence and skills in using digital technology in their everyday lives. "
Dr Ruth Chambers, OBE

The webinars are titled; ‘tech for dummies: boost your health and wellbeing’, and are designed to encourage people to incorporate digital technology into their daily lives, in order to boost their wellbeing.

digihealthwell has recently conducted various health condition specific webinars, and received feedback from attendees that a more detailed webinar on the technology available for health and wellbeing aimed at a wider, more general audience would be helpful.

With this in mind, digihealthwell has planned their tech for dummies webinars with the goal of encouraging digital inclusion. The webinars will encourage attendees to feel empowered enough to start using digital technology and assistive devices to better manage their own healthcare.

The webinars will feature a general section on building confidence and skills using digital technology. An overview of some of the most common forms of digital technology for everyday use. An overview of the tools available online that can help the attendees to further their digital skills. A section on smart speakers, and how digital assistants can aid attendees in everyday life, and an overview of how to install apps on smartphones.

There will also be sections on patient to clinician texting and video consultations, and how social media channels can help attendees to learn more about their health conditions.

A portion of the webinars will also focus on how assistive technology could help attendees to manage their health and maintain their independence in the home.

The webinars will also feature 5 ways that digital technology can improve wellbeing, a section on privacy and security for the use of technology, and finally a live Q&A with the webinar’s panel.

The webinars will comprise a range of speakers, including Dr Ruth Chambers OBE, Staffordshire STP’s clinical lead for technology enabled care and digital workstream, who comments; “The webinars are a fantastic opportunity for people to build confidence and skills in using digital technology in their everyday lives”.

Ruth Chambers OBE continues; “We have received extremely encouraging feedback from our recent condition focused webinars, so we’re looking forward to reaching more people with our tech for dummies webinars”.

The tech for dummies webinars will last for one hour and are free, tickets are available now.
