"We were really surprised with the amount of submissions we received over the past few weeks and the window looks absolutely fabulous."
Co-op Funeralcare in Eye, Peterborough, has unveiled a colourful window display to help raise the community spirit over the Easter weekend.
The funeral home, based on the High Street, had hoped to host an Easter egg competition for the Easter weekend; however, it was subsequently put on hold following the government’s social distancing guidelines.
Instead, the team put a request out for children in the community to send in inspirational artwork, which was then used to curate a spirit-lifting window display for all in the area to enjoy.
The campaign, which was launched at the start of the month, has already received dozens of artwork submissions from families in the local area.
Michelle Finney, Funeral Director at Co-op Funeralcare in Eye, said: “We have a really close relationship with our community in Peterborough and really understand that families are going through an extremely tough time as of late.
“That’s why we wanted to do something to connect with the community over Easter. It only had one condition however; that the submissions were colourful and either Easter-themed, or in support of our wonderful NHS.
“We were really surprised with the amount of submissions we received over the past few weeks and the window looks absolutely fabulous. If you’re passing by on your daily walk over the Easter weekend, make sure to take a look at the amazing artwork!”
